Consultancies

Between 1980 and 2012 he has been consultant in more than 40 universities in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Italy and Spain. His works as consultant includes:

University Building
University Transformation and Institutional Projects for universities lacking them
Development of “Strategic Plans” for universities lacking them
Giving advise in preparing and developing research plans for teachers (post-graduate courses of various kinds, master and PhD degrees);
Building-up capacities for preparing curricula and programs of different subjects.
Advise concerning management and evaluation processes as well as financing techniques and accreditation.
Courses to university leaders and professors (with the aim of transforming) in themes such as: university financing, accreditation, building of curricula and programs of specific subjects.

As a rule, the method he has used in consultancy is a participative one. This implies working closely with the university leaders as well as with the faculty members in preparing documents, conferences and workshops. This way of doing is crucial to achieve success, otherwise the university transformation fails. Changes should be the result of collective learning and not of unilateral recommendations ignoring the faculty feelings and criteria. The proper follow-up of consultancy activities is also an essential task to control the behaviour of the key indicators. Preparing Delphi Pools has contributed also a great deal in the main themes of higher education such as financing, evaluation and accreditation. His working style is that of being permanently in touch with colleagues of formal (UNESCO Forum, GUNI, AIU, and CLACSO) and informal networks.In the last years he has been advisoring and giving prospective methodology and its main trends in MBA’s in Administrative Faculties.
